Lady in Red! Kate Dazzles at Historic Reconciliation Ceremony with Canadian First Nations Groups

Kate Duchess of Cambridge arrived in a red gown

THE Duchess of Cambridge wowed in a red Preen dress when she joined Prince William for an historic reconciliation ceremony with Canadian First Nations groups.

After a dress down day in the rain forest, Kate was the epitome of glamour at a reception for political and civic leaders from across British Columbia at Government House in Victoria.

She and William mingled with 200 guests in the ballroom of the grand house, the monarch's official residence in the province of British Columbia.

But before the reception they joined around 25 people, including First Nations representatives, in the drawing room for a ceremony designed to heal the wounds of conflict between indigenous people and the government.

Assisted by two Indian chiefs, William, 34, added a ring of reconciliation to the Black Rod, a ceremonial staff of British Columbia's Legislature modeled on the one used in Parliament in London. Click link for full post from EXPRESS.

The duchess, 34, covered up for the weather with a safari jacket from Holland and Holland.

The royal couple were greeted warmly in Bella Bella by the indigenous Heiltsuk people as ‘hemas’, a hereditary chief, and ‘umaks’, a woman of high rank or standing.

William and Kate were shown one of the most precious items owned by the community, a royal staff with a silver crown head given to the present chief’s great-grandfather by Queen Victoria.

William and Kate Continue Day Two of Canadian Tour

It was a rainy, misty morning on the west coast but the couple were still able to enjoy scenic views of the coast, islands, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca before their plane touched down in Coal Harbour.

"We are delighted to share this quintessential west coast experience with the royal couple," Randy Wright, executive vice president of Harbour Air, said.

For William and Kate it was the easiest, the quickest and the most spectacular way of making the journey from Victoria, the capital of British Columbia which lies 70 miles across the Georgia Strait on Vancouver Island. Click link for full post from EXPRESS.

Oh Canada! The Royals Have Landed in Victoria!

Caption: Prince William was pleased to meet members of the Prime Minister's family after he arrived in Victoria, British Columbia

Prince George stole the show as the Cambridge family arrived in Canada, ignoring waiting dignitaries by waving excitedly at a landing helicopter.

But all eyes were on Princess Charlotte, 16 months, making only her third public appearance as she clung to her mother, Kate, looking elegant in blue Jenny Packham dress with a Locke and Co hat and sporting the Queen's glittering maple leaf diamond.

The family arrived on a Canadian Air Force plane on time shortly before 4pm local time and were greeted by the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his equally fashion forward wife Sophie.

It took a while for the plane steps to be loaded but when they did William appeared first holding a slightly apprehensive George's hand.  Click link for full post from The Daily Mail.
